NICA teams of Ozaukee
We are a club for athletes in grades 6 – 12 who are interested in riding off-road, racing, and adventure rides.

We welcome all skill levels, and encourage riding bikes as a lifelong activity. Education, safety, new friends, and FUN lead the way to improving skills with the opportunity to race if kids are interested.
Our teams...
Our teams include riders from across Ozaukee County, including Cedarburg, Grafton, Port Washington, Mequon. Students from all public school districts and all private schools within Ozaukee County are welcome. In addition, we also have team members from the University School of Milwaukee and the Brown Deer School District, and home-schooled athletes who live within the above school district boundaries.
We Love Riding
Mountain Biking provides a great alternative team environment and an opportunity to build skills and confidence in a unique way. In a safe and supportive environment, riders will learn basic through advanced skills, including braking, shifting, body position, cornering, ascending, descending, and obstacles. Riders will also learn good bike path and trail etiquette, nutrition basics, and race strategies.
There are no try-outs, nobody sits on the bench, and all riders are welcome.
It's More than a Sport
We are about having fun and building a community based around cycling. Our athletes create lifelong memories and friendships through riding. Beyond racing, kids also share in activities like overnight camping, adventure weekends, trail maintenance, and GRiT (Girls riding together).
We are not an extreme sport.
We are a “cross country” mountain biking team, not an extreme sport. There is no reckless riding. We ride in small groups with 6-8 riders of similar skills led by 1-2 coaches. Ensuring the right mix of challenge and fun. All athletes have the opportunity to race and all the athletes contribute to the team. Not everyone has to race, but we encourage all athletes and their families to attend at least one race.
Parents
ride too!
As the team continues to grow, we are always looking for help on trail rides and with coaching. If you are a parent of a rider on the team or simply an adult human that loves to ride on dirt and wants to give back and help get more kids on bikes please drop us a line. None of our coaches are professional mountain bikers (in case you were wondering).
